Twiddler 4 ignores my cfg files

I just got my Twiddler 4 but I can't seem to change it from the default layout. I've tried both v6 and v7, I've downgraded from firmware 3.02 to 3.00 and back again. I've put the cfg in 1.cfg, 2.cfg, 3.cfg, and all at the same time. I tried cloning a T3 config to both v6 and v7, I've also tried creating a new default config with just one item changed. I've ejected gracefully and I've just yanked the cord.

After all this I'm at a loss. Did I get a defective unit? What else can I do? I'm on Windows 10, and maybe after work I'll try Linux and Win11.

dkburrows Make sure to copy the config to the Twiddler then UNPLUG the USB. The act of unplugging USB causes the file to be written to the Twiddler.

Tony I've tried both unplugging and, when that didn't work, ejecting. Multiple times for each method.

When I'm home I can try different cables and try unplugging from the computer end of the cable if that makes any difference.

Hopefully the T4 hasn't somehow become read-only.

Nope. It simply does not work for me, no matter what computer, what cable, what firmware version, what version of cfg, whether I eject, unmount, or simply yank out the usb cable. I'm stuck with an unusable default config.

Is there something that would tell it to NOT use 0.cfg? Perhaps it just loads that and refuses to load anything else.

Figured it out. User error brought on by never having to do this on T3 and having the answer buried in the docs and not obvious (to me). I think the real key for me was that switching chords was not blindingly obvious. I spent an hour looking for the answer and it was in special chords, but even then I glossed over it.

Switch between configs using T0F4M. Below, for more verbose:
-Convert your config to v7
-Open cfg in tuner and save. (For it told me my converted cfg didn't have system chords, which it then inserted)
-Copy to Twiddler.
-Unplug
-Replug
-Press T0F4M. Left LED is 1.cfg, Middle is 2.cfg, 3.cfg is right LED

For Tony and Eric I would suggest two things. If it turns out these are already present and I simply blanked on them then apologies:
1) make this key chord extremely obvious on any page that mentions uploading your cfg to your device. It's essential to getting the cfg to work.
2) Have T4 default to 1.cfg. It seems to default to 0.cfg, but it seems like that should be a read-only fall-back for if the other configs don't work.
